Freedom Rent a CarPh: 0409 933 618Conditions of RentalIn this Agreement the following expressions have the following meanings: The 'renter' includes any person or persons who sign this Agreement, no other person is permitted to drive the vehicle, The 'vehicle' means the vehicle described in the rental agreement or any other replacement vehicles provided to the renter by Freedom Rent a Car. The term 'damage' refers to any form of damage associated with the vehicle that occurs during the rental period or time the renter is using the vehicle including,
Freedom Rent a Car will not give a refund in the event of the vehicle being returned early. 3. Driver's Licence Our rental fees are for drivers who are 25 years or older and hold a current driver's licence that is printed in English, is recognised in Tasmania and is appropriate for the vehicle being rented. The minimum driver age is 21 years, drivers 21 to 24 years old incur an extra $5 per day. 4. Insurance In the event of the vehicle being damaged the renter will be required to pay the first $1000 towards correcting any damage. This insurance excess can be reduced to $500 by paying an additional $5 per day or it can be reduced to $100 by paying an additional $10 per day. 5. Bond In addition to all rental costs a bond will be held by Freedom Rent a Car in the form of a credit card remittance, equal to the agreed insurance excess (up to $1000). This bond is held in case the renter incurs any additional costs associated with the vehicle during the rental period. Such costs may be the result of
6. Kilometres Rental fees allow for unlimited kilometres. 7. Parking Fines and Traffic Infringements. It is the duty of the renter to ensure the vehicle is used and parked in a legal and safe manner throughout the rental period. Any fine or other costs associated with a failure to comply with this duty will be the responsibility of the renter. 8. In Case of a Breakdown All of our cars are covered by RACT breakdown service, however should the renter experience a mechanical failure 'Freedom Rent a Car' must be notified immediately, if possible. Should the renter engage the services of the RACT or any other organisation or business without the approval of 'Freedom Rent a Car' they may be held responsible for the associated costs. 9. In Case of the Vehicle Being Damaged Should the vehicle be involved in an accident 'Freedom Rent a Car' and Tasmania Police must be notified immediately. If an another vehicle is involved you will need the other driver's name, address and licence number and the vehicle licence plate number. Should the vehicle be returned damaged it is the responsibility of the renter to return the vehicle to the Launceston area with enough time get a quote from a panel beater (smash repairer / auto body shop). 'Freedom Rent a Car' can assist in getting a quote. Should the renter not get a quote or allow time to get a quote they thereby accept the valuation of 'Freedom Rent a Car'. 10.
